Dear Parent / Carer
You will be aware from the news that schools in areas with higher infection rates will not be opening in January as planned. Hounslow is an area which will have a delayed return to school. On 4th January we will only be open for children of critical workers and 'vulnerable' children. All other children will need to access remote learning from home.
Critical workers are defined as workers involved with delivering key public services during the pandemic. This includes: Health and Social Care, Education and Childcare, Public Safety and National Security, Transport, Utilities and Communication, Financial Services as well as Food / necessary goods production and retail.
'Vulnerable' children are children with: a Child In Need plan, a Child Protection Plan, Looked After children or who have an EHC plan (SEN).
If you are a critical worker or your child is 'vulnerable' we would like to ask that you email the school on the office address: email@example.com by January 2nd as this will enable us to plan for the number of children expected. Breakfast club and aftercare will continue to be available. All families attending school will need to enter from the main entrance.
For all other families, we will provide you with details about how to access remote learning in the next few days. Some of you will have already had experience of this when classes were self-isolating, and we have developed a good system for managing this.
We will provide you with regular updates as we receive further guidance. We understand that this is an unsettling time, but will work as hard as we can to give support with routines and structures through home learning to make things as normal as possible for children.
An interesting start to 2021!
